Universal Robots NEW UR30

The Universal Robot UR30 is a new cobot (collaborative robot) that was launched by Universal Robots in November 2023.

We have only just gotten to grips with the UR20 and now Universal Robots has released details of its UR30!

If you are looking for a collaborative robot (cobot) that can handle heavy payloads, fast speeds, and advanced motion control, look no further than the UR30, the latest addition to the Universal Robots family. The UR30 is designed to provide up to 30% more speed and torque than previous models. It also features a first-class user experience, with a 12 inch touchscreen, a 3-position enabling teach pendant, and a redesigned control box.

The UR30 has a payload of 20 kg and a reach of 1750 mm, making it an ideal match for applications ranging from palletizing to machine loading. It has 6 rotating joints, with 360-degree rotation on all wrist joints and infinite rotation on the end joint. It can move at 2 m/s and has a pose repeatability of ±0.1 mm. It also has a force sensing and torque sensor on the tool flange, allowing it to perform delicate tasks with precision and accuracy.

Cutting-edge safety features ensure safe collaboration between humans and machines. It has 17 configurable safety functions, and complies with EN ISO 13849-1 (PLd Category 3) and EN ISO 10218-1. It has an IP65 water protection rating on the arm and an IP54 rating on the control box. It also has a low noise level of less than 65 dB(A).

You can use PolyScope, the UR  graphical user interface, to program the UR30 without any coding experience. You can also choose from various communication options, such as Modbus TCP, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, USB, ROS/ROS2 driver support, and IMMI.
