Watch Cobots.ie at the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards 2019

The winners of the inaugural IMR Manufacturing & Supply Chain Awards sponsored by Cobots.ie was announced on 17th of January 2019. Companies across the Island of Ireland were celebrated in 17 categories throughout the manufacturing industry. The glittering event took place at The Citywest Convention Centre.

Unlike other awards ceremonies, the event focused on the people behind the process, recognising hard work, innovation and dedication to the industry.

Competition was fierce this year with hundreds of entries applying across 15 categories. Other winners included Valeo Vision Systems who won Best Use of Robotics, a category sponsored by Cobots.ie. The judges awarded Valeo Vision Systems this title as they are at the cutting edge of developments for pedestrian detection, cross traffic alert, automated parking as they drive to meet the global demand for Autonomous driving applications.

Innovative work, close collaboration and improvement to internal operations played a significant role in the decision-making process for judges this year. The 2019 panel included Eoin O’ Driscoll, Chairman of Tyndall Institute, Barry Kennedy, Chief Executive of IMR, Caroline Spillane, Director General Engineers Ireland, Bob Barbour, Chief Executive Competitiveness Centre, Professor Eamon Murphy, University of Limerick, Dr Christopher Keely, Trinity College Dublin and John Whelan, Chairman of Premier Publishing and Events.  Former CEO and non-executive director of Creganna-Tactx Medical, Helen Ryan was been crowned the Outstanding Industry Contribution winner for her contribution to putting Ireland on the map as a leader in producing innovative technologies in the medical device sector.
